Saturday Boredom Busters

The Blue and the Gray battle it out in Pipestone, Minnesota this weekend.
Civil War Days at the Hiawatha Pageant Grounds allows visitors to interact with the lives of both soldiers and civilians during a crucial time in U-S history.
There will be recreations from camp life and daily life, as well as a battle re-enactment.
Civil War Days goes from 8 am to 5 pm Saturday and Sunday.
Admission is $6 for adults, $20 for families, free for kids 7 and under.

Sioux Falls is observing the 100th anniversary of Sherman Park with a day-long celebration.
It gets underway at 10 am with kids' entertainer Phil Baker.
The Zoomobile pays a visit to the park at 11 am.
Mayor Mike Huether will offer remarks during a centennial tree planting at 1:30 pm.
The Municipal Band quintet will perform at 2 pm.
Ice cream will be served during the concert.
The Centennial Shuttle will take guests on a tour of the 205 acre park.

Enjoy a glass of wine and a patchwork of ornate decorations during Quilts and Vines at the Strawbale Winery in Renner.
It goes from 10 am to 5 pm and costs $12.
A portion of all ticket sales will go to Project Linus
The first 1,500 guests will receive a souvenir wine glass.

Stealing Angels and Love and Theft are the featured performers at the Sioux Empire Fair tonight.
The music in the grandstand gets underway at 8 pm.
The concerts are free with a $5 gate entry.
The midway rides go from noon to midnight.

The Dog Days of Summer Rally is a free community fair and pet adoption event taking place in the PetSmart parking lot on South Louise Avenue in Sioux Falls.
14 animal rescue groups will be taking part in the gathering from 10 am to 3 pm.
Your $15 donation gets you a free Rally to Rescue t-shirt.

The AMA Racing Extreme Dirt Track Championship Series is taking place today at the Sioux Valley Cycle Club in Renner.
There will be practice runs from 8-10 am.
Heat races begin at 11 am.
The main features start at 5 pm.
Admission is $10.

Tonight's free Downtown Moonlight Movie is Coraline, rated PG.
It gets underway at dusk at Fawick Park.
