Saturday Boredom Busters


This weekend head out to the Sioux Empire Fairgrounds for the South Dakota Horse Fair. Check out speakers, demonstrations, contests, and entertainment. You can also learn about Hippology and Horse Safety at the Armoury. Tonight's big event will be the Ranch Rodeo. Sunday morning worship at Cowboy Church. Never lose your pet again! From 10 to 3 today at the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society, get your furry friends microchipped. Get a nationally registered microchip for just $20. No appointment needed. 100% of the profits go toward the care of shelter pets. 

Help raise funds for Pioneer Memorial Nursing home today as you plunge into icy water. From 10 to 2 take part in a Polar Plunge at Swan Lake. Funds raised will go toward the Nursing Home's therapy tub room renovation. A minimum donation of $50 is required to register can be raised via pledges/donations/sponsorships. A hot meal will be served after the plunge and is free to all participants. 

From 12 to 10 tonight head out to Presho, South Dakota's 26th Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade. The Blarney Commission will hold the Annual St. Patrick's Day Celebration, with a fun run, parade, Irish country cooking, and great Irish music. 

It will feel and look more like spring today this years Lawn and Garden Show in Sioux Falls. Beginning at 9 this morning at the Sioux Falls Convention Center view beautiful landscaping displays, shop for seasonal merchandise, and take part in free seminars and demonstrations. Admission is 5 dollars. New this year, a Nature Photo Contest. There will also be Ultimate Backyard Giveaways. The show wraps up tonight at 7. 

Celebrate St. Patrick's Day early today at the El Riad Shrine in Sioux Falls. For 10 dollars, join in the fun at the 5th Annual St. Patty's Day Bash. This year's event again features the popular regional party band Eclipse. Doors open at 7:00 with Eclipse hitting the stage at 9:00 pm. Reserved tables are available for $150.00. Must be 21 to attend. 

And don't miss out on this years KELO-TV Sanford Health and Fitness Fair. Take advantage of free screenings which include blood pressure, free glucose testing, free body mass index, vision tests, oral cancer screenings and much more. There will also be live demonstrations today. The health and fitness fair begins at 9 this morning at the Empire Mall in Sioux Falls.
