Saturday Boredom Busters

Join Mayor Mike Huether for a Listening and Learning Session today in downtown Sioux Falls.
The mayor will meet with the public from 9 to 10:30 am at the Whisk & Chop at 9th Street and South Minnesota Avenue.

The 2nd annual Run for Their Lives! is a SIDS awareness run that includes a half-marathon, a 5K run/walk and a 1-mile kids run.
It starts at 8 am at Sertoma Park.
Registration costs from $10-$35.

Also at Sertoma Park, Take Steps for Crohn's and Colitis is a 2.5 mile walk to raise funds and awareness for a cure for Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis.
There will also be food, drinks and games for kids from 3:30 to 6 pm at the Sertoma Park pavilion.

A classic car show and shine will raise money for Siouxland Caring Hands of Hope, a program that helps former inmates find jobs.
The show and shine goes from 3-7 pm at the fairgrounds' Expo Building.
That's followed by a vintage rock and roll concert from 7 to midnight.
Admission is $10.

The New Life Treatment Center in Woodstock, Minnesota is hosting its 30th anniversary Horse Ride-a-Thon.
Horses and their riders, along with horse-drawn rigs will leave the Pipestone County Fairgrounds at 10 am on their way to the center in Woodstock.

The Kingsbury County Sheriff's Department is hosting a Poker Run to raise money for South Dakota Special Olympics.
Registration is from 11 am to noon at the Oxbow Restaurant in De Smet.
The 118 mile ride will end at 5 pm at Wheaties Bar in De Smet.

THE RACE 5K Walk/Run is a fundraiser for the Spearfish Food Pantry.
Registration is at 7:30 at Countryside Community Church in Spearfish.
The race starts at 8 am.

The Izaak Walton League is hosting its 3rd annual Clean Boat Event at Gavins Point Dam in Yankton.
Boaters can learn how to clean, drain and dry their equipment to prevent the spread of invasive aquatic species like the Asian carp and zebra mussels
The event goes from 6 am to 2 pm.
