Reaction To Warren Jeffs Arrest

One of the FBI's most wanted fugitives, who has polygamist compound in Western South Dakota, has been captured.

Warren Jeffs was caught during a routine traffic stop in Las Vegas. His car was full of cell phones, lap tops, wigs and more than 50,000 dollars in cash.

Jeffs is wanted on a number of charges in Arizona and Utah, including rape and arranging marriages for underage girls. He considers himself the prophet of the fundamentalist church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Former members say Jeffs has told his more than 10,000 followers to prepare for the end of days.

Flora Jessop escaped the sect in 1986. She fears that with Jeffs' arrest, he'll be viewed as a martyr and that it will create a tense and dangerous situation at his compounds across the country, including the one in South Dakota.

Jessop said, “I know there's a lot of fear, because this is not the end, this is the begging of the potential for a massive amount of violence.”

Earlier this year the ATF found two tons of high powered explosives behind the gates of one of his compounds.

Jessop hopes the chaos that his followers will be in following Jeffs' arrest will help her locate her mother who she believes is in one of the compounds and has been missing for over a year.
