Plane Makes Emergency Landing In Rapid City

Rapid City, SD

No one was injured when a United Express flight to Denver returned to Rapid City after smoke filled the cockpit.

The plane carrying 50 passengers and three crew members made a safe landing about 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

SkyWest Airlines, which operated the flight, did not immediately release the cause of the smoke.

The plane took off later in the day and arrived at Denver about 8:30 p.m., about 5 1/2 hours late.
