A revised parking plan would save some of the ball fields at McCart Park if a proposed events center is built near the Sioux Falls Arena.
The city is set to share the adjusted plan at a new conference at the park Thursday afternoon. According to the city, the plan meets the needs for additional parking in the area while minimizing the impact to the ball diamonds. Just one diamond would be repurposed for parking under this new plan.
A previous plan called for tearing out five of the 11 diamonds to make way for about 1,000 parking spots.
The plan will be presented by Director of Parks and Recreation Don Kearney and Director of Public Works Mark Cotter. KELOLAND News will be at the news conference. Get additional details later today on KELOLAND News.
