The former police chief of Highmore and Miller, Ken Huber has been arrested and charged with murder for the shooting death of his wife.
The case has now been turned over the South Dakota's attorney general Larry Long, and new court papers from his office are revealing more about the when Pam Huber was shot in the head.
Ken Huber was arrested Tuesday night at the VA hospital in Sioux Falls. The former Marine checked himself in there several days ago. The affidavit reveals Ken Huber's account of the night he says he accidentally shot his wife in the head.
The paperwork also lays out what the couples 11 and 12-year-old daughters recall from that night, one of them was even in bed with Pam Huber when she was shot.
Ken Huber told investigators the shooting was an accident, but the DCI agent states that the gun involved in the shooting has three safety mechanisms, and requires four pounds of pressure to pull the trigger, which the agent believe makes it very unlikely that the gun went off accidentally.
