KELO-TV/Argus Leader Poll: Events Center

sioux falls, sd

The city of Sioux Falls is spending $500,000 to have plans and conceptual designs for a new events center developed.
Mayor Mike Huether has proposed building a $100 million, 12,000 seat events center near the Sioux Falls Arena and Convention Center. But do the people support building a facility?

According to the results of the KELO-TV/Argus Leader Poll of 400 registered voters in Sioux Falls, 57 percent support having the city build an events center to replace the Arena. 33 percent oppose that plan and 10 percent are undecided.

Of the people who support building a new events center, 57 percent would like to see it built at the Arena site; 15 percent support building it downtown. 24 percent of people don’t like either location and four percent are not sure where it should be built.

The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 5 percent.
