Trash is piling up at a makeshift firearms practice site about 20 minutes south of Rapid City in the Black Hills.
A spot along Berretta Road has become a popular place for people to shoot trees - and also for illegally dumping garbage. The U.S. Forest Service is urging people to stop on both counts.
Officials say that using the surrounding trees for target practice kills the trees and can also damage sawmills if the trees are ever harvested.
As for the trash, people are asked to quit leaving their soda cans, TVs and refrigerators at the site.
