The state Department of Game, Fish and Parks said it took in just over $30,000 at an auction of deer antlers, mountain lion skulls and other things.
The auction was held in June as part of a two-day Outdoor Expo in Huron.
The GF&P collected the items over the years but couldn't sell them until the Legislature changed state law. Officials say some of the prices were $4.50-$6.50 a pound for bulk deer antlers and $4.50-$10 a pound for bulk elk antlers. Individual elk or deer racks sold for up to $475 each. Other top prices were $275 for mountain lion skulls, $350 for bobcat pelts, and $550 for mountain lion hides.
Auction proceeds will help fund the Sportsmen Against Hunger and Turn In Poachers programs.
