South Dakota Congresswoman Kristi Noem and the Fort Pierre Public Works Director are among those scheduled to testify Wednesday during a US House of Representatives subcommittee hearing on the Missouri River management.
The Subcommittee on Water Resources and Environment is assessing this year's flooding, how the river was managed in 2011 and plans on how to operate it in the future. The group has jurisdiction over the US Army Corps of Engineers which has been criticized for its management river and how it prepared for the flooding.
