Flooding Continues In Brown County

Aberdeen, SD

Red Cross officials are going door to door in northeastern South Dakota's Brown County, in areas where flooding is most severe and apt to damage homes.

Emergency Operations Center spokesman Freddie Robinson says the Red Cross workers are assessing damage to residences and attached garages in an effort to help the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

The Camino Real neighborhood in the Aberdeen area continues to be threatened by high water. For some, a boat is needed to get to the mailbox. Kenneth Erdmann says he's lived in the neighborhood for 34 years and has never seen anything like it.

National Guard soldiers and minimum-security state prison inmates have been helping with sandbagging this week.
