South Dakota's congressional delegation has written President Barack Obama to support Gov. Dennis Daugaard's request for an emergency flood declaration.
The letter was sent late Tuesday night by Sen. John Thune, R-S.D., Sen. Tim Johnson, D-S.D., and U.S. Rep Kristi Noem, R-S.D. It urges Obama to expeditiously review Daugaard's recent request for an emergency declaration for South Dakota due to an imminent threat of spring flooding.
The letter asks the president to instruct federal agencies to expedite delivery of federal disaster assistance for which South Dakota would be eligible.
