A former South Dakota legislator has been chosen as GOP gubernatorial candidate Dennis Daugaard's running mate.
Daugaard announced Matt Michels as his pick at a news conference on Thursday.
Michels served as a state representative from 1999 to 2006. During his time in the legislature, he served as Speaker Pro Tempore and Speaker of the House.
