The cause of a fire that destroyed a landmark bar and restaurant in the Aberdeen region likely will never be known.
State Fire Marshal Al Christie says damage to Craven Corner from the fire last Wednesday was so extensive that an official cause can't be determined. But he says if any new information comes in the investigation will continue.
Christie says there is no reason for authorities to suspect foul play.
The bar and restaurant off U.S. Highway 12 east of Ipswich opened in 1950 and was known for its dances and musical acts. Country-western stars including Johnny Paycheck, Tammy Wynette and Kitty Wells performed there.
Owner Flint Jeschke has said he hopes to rebuild.
