The recent flooding across South Dakota has prompted officials in Hamlin and Codington counties to open a call center for homeowners and farmers to report flood damage.
Officials want to gather information on just how much damage there is from the spring flooding. The information will lay the groundwork for getting help from the federal government. The reports could eventually lead to assistance for property owners to repair their homes and for the counties to fix roads that are damaged.
The center opens at 1 p.m. and will stay open until 9 p.m. You can call 605-882-6272 if you live in either county and want to report flood damage.
