Work On Highway 44 Starts Monday

Rapid City, SD

Crews begin construction work, Monday, on Highway 44 in Rapid City.

The work will start at Chapel Lane near Canyon Lake all the way to the junction of Highway 385 and 44, covering 14 miles.

Crews will be milling the existing surface, slope flattening, asphalt paving, guardrail work signing and pavement markings.

Initially, flaggers will be in place and traffic will be reduced to one lane as crews remove guardrail, clear timber and flatten slopes west of Johnson Siding.

The work is set to be finished by October.
