Woman Seriously Injured In Two-Vehicle Crash

Sioux Falls, SD

A two-vehicle crash in Sioux Falls sent both drivers to the hospital, one with serious life-threatening injuries.

At 10:54 p.m. Thursday, authorities were dispatched to Madison Street and Terry Avenue. A 2007 Mitsubishi Endeavor and a 1994 Buick Century collided in the intersection, left the intersection and landed in a field. Authorities said speed and alcohol could have been factors in the crash.

The driver of the Mitsubishi, a 25-year-old woman, was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The Buick's driver, a 36-year-old female, was ejected from the vehicle as it rolled and received serious life-threatening injuries. Police said the names of the drivers will be released at a later time.

Police said the Buick Century ran through a red light, causing the crash. The traffic lights in the intersections were flashing at the time of the incident.
