The South Dakota Board of Water and Natural Resources is meeting to discuss the state's water project priorities and funding.
The seven-member panel meets Thursday. It oversees state and federal funds from a variety of funding pools.
Staff from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources will request authorization to seek investment banking services. This process only comes about every few years says Jim Feeney. He's the director of the division of financial and technical assistance.
He says they seek bonds in this way when the need arises.
Feeney says the state offers funding for all water projects requested, which range from drinking water facilities to solid waste management. Officials determine how much funding to provide as grants or loans to each applicant.
