Tom Brokaw came home to the South Dakota town of Pickstown on Friday to help dedicate a museum.
The museum is the culmination of a nearly three-year project by a group of early and current residents interested in preserving the history before it was lost in generational turnover.
Brokaw was an eight-year resident of the southeast South Dakota town along the Missouri River during the late 1940s and early 1950s.
The dedication is part of the state's 125-year Statehood Anniversary events.
This weekend will feature a reunion for former and current Pickstown residents.
