Tidemann To Ask Joop Bollen To Speak On EB-5

Pierre, SD

The chair of the state's Government Operations and Audit Committee says he plans to ask the man who formerly handled the state's role in an investment-for-green-card program to speak at its next meeting.

Republican Sen. Larry Tidemann says he's drafted a letter to Joop Bollen that asks him to give of chronology of the EB-5 program in South Dakota.

Democratic lawmakers said this week the GOAC should issue subpoenas to seek answers regarding allegations of financial misconduct at the Governor's Office of Economic Development. The office ended its contract with Bollen's private corporation last year.

Tidemann says he also plans to send a letter with questions from Democratic lawmakers to Gov. Dennis Daugaard and former Gov. Mike Rounds. The two will be asked to respond in writing.
