Support For SD Dog Shelter After Building Burns

HOT SPRINGS, SD

A director of a Hot Springs animal shelter says contributions have been pouring  in since the shelter's main building burned down last week.

Cheryl Fair says the Battle Mountain Humane Society of Hot Springs plans to rebuild and hopes to finish the project before winter.

Fair says several dog houses, collars, leashes and bags of food have been donated, and a delivery of 20 kennels is expected later this week.

She says money has been coming in from across the nation and even from other countries. Fair says the shelter got one donation from Helsinki, Finland.

Fair says the shelter still needs dog food, blankets and other supplies. She says the dogs all have a place to stay.
