Sunday Boredom Busters, May 27th

Pack a picnic lunch and head out to Strawbale Winery in Renner for Sangria Sunday.  Enjoy live music and South Dakota summer wines from 1-4 p.m.  Admission is $5 a person or $10 per carload.

It's the opening weekend at South Dakota's largest waterpark.  Wild Water West is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.    Attractions include a water slide, a wave pool, Tornado Alley, miniature golf and go-karts.  Wild Water West is located west of Sioux Falls on 466th Avenue.
 
The Spring Classic qualifier for the U.S. Open Basketball Championships wraps up Sunday in Sioux Falls.  The final round of games are being played at the Sanford Pentagon.  The top two teams from each age group advance to the championships later this summer in Indiana.

Check out the array of artwork during SculptureWalk 2018.  57 sculptures are on display along sidewalks in downtown Sioux Falls as well as the Uptown and East Bank business districts.
 
Films playing at the Wells Fargo Cinedome include Amazon Adventure at noon, followed by two showings of Memorial Day at 2 and 5 p.m.  Each showing will be followed by a question and answer session with director Samuel Fischer.
  
The summer Hollywood blockbuster season gets underway this holiday weekend with the release of Solo: A Star Wars Story, rated PG-13.
  
Looking ahead to Monday, the Sioux Falls Veterans Council is hosting a Memorial Day Program at the VA Medical Center.  It starts with music by the Sioux Falls Municipal Band at 10 a.m.  The program gets underway at 10:30 p.m.  The VA Medical Center is located at 2501 W. 22nd Street in Sioux Falls.    

Also Monday, Bishop Paul Swain will lead a Memorial Day Mass at St. Michael Cemetery in Sioux Falls.   The service begins at 9 a.m.  The cemetery is located at 3001 N. Cliff. 

The American Legion in Lismore, MN is hosting a Memorial Day Program Monday at 10 a.m. in the Legion Hall.  That will be followed by military services at St. Anthony, St. Anthony West and Lismore cemeteries.  A community potluck meal will be served at the Legion Hall following the services.  

Dell Rapids is hosting a Memorial Day Parade Monday beginning at 10 a.m. the parade starts at the intersection of 4th Street and Clark Avenue, ending at Garfield Avenue.  A ceremony honoring veterans will take place in the city park following the parade.
