Sunday Boredom Busters, March 18th

Celebrate the end of winter at Great Bear Recreation Park's annual Snirt Fest.  Activities begin at noon and include snow soccer, a costume contest and pond skimming.  The entry fee for each event is $5, or $10 to enter all events.  Great Bear will be open for regular skiing and snowboarding from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.  

The Third Sunday Archeology Program at Augustana University features a new Archeological Investigation of Plains Apache in the Nebraska Sand Hills.  The free talk by archeologist Rob Bozell begins at 2 p.m. in the Froiland Science Complex.  Refreshments will be served.

Bring your antiques from home and have them evaluated at the Antiques, Railroad Show & Sale at the Hill City Middle School gym.  Sunday's hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Admission is free.  There is a $3 per item evaulation fee.  Proceeds support the Hill City Senior Center and the South Dakota Railroad Museum.

The SCHEELS IcePlex is hosting a Family Open Skate from 1-3 p.m.  Admission is $6 for adults, $4 for children.  Skate rentals are $3.  The SCHEELS IcePlex is located at the Sanford Sports Complex in Sioux Falls.  
Open swimming is available at the Midco Aquatic Center in Sioux Falls from noon to 5 p.m.  Admission is a daily or annual pass.  The Midco Aquatic Center is located in Spellerberg Park.  

Check out the 19 life-like dinosaurs on exhibit at Dino-Roars in the Delbridge Museum of Natural History at the Great Plains Zoo.  Hours are from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.  The cost is $3, plus a zoo admission.  Dino-Roars runs daily through April 15. 
Films playing at the Wells Fargo CineDome in the Washington Pavilion include Journey to Space, Mysteries of China and Amazon Adventure.
New Hollywood releases playing at a theater near you include I Can Only Imagine, rated PG and Love, Simon and Tomb Raider, both rated PG-13.
