Sunday Boredom Busters

Sioux Falls, SD

The defending Indoor Football League champion Sioux Falls Storm plays its first game inside the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center.  Kickoff to the Storm's pre-season matchup against the Sioux City Bandits is 2:05 p.m.  Tickets are $15.  The game is a fundraiser for Feeding South Dakota's Backpack Program.

Motorheads will want to check out all the cars, bikes and trucks on display at the Winterfest of Wheels at the Sioux Falls Convention Center.  The hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Olaf from Frozen will be there from 1 to 4 p.m. The cost is $9 for adults, free for kids 12 and under.  Winterfest of Wheels is a fundraiser for Cure Kids Cancer.

The Sioux Empire Community Theatre presents the dark comedy Arsenic and Old Lace.  The performance is at 2 p.m. at the Orpheum Theater in downtown Sioux Falls.  Tickets are $20.

The Danish Brotherhood Society of Viborg is hosting Bingo starting at 1 p.m. at the DBS Hall.  The cost is 25-cents a card.  There will be cash pay-outs plus door prizes.  Lunch will be served.

Several bands will be performing at the Sioux Falls VFW as part of a benefit for cancer patient Kenny Powell. The benefit goes from 2-9 p.m.  The cost is $5. 

The Baltic American Legion is hosting its Monthly Breakfast of French toast, biscuits and gravy and eggs and sausage.  Serving time is from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  The cost is $6 for adults, $5 for kids, ages 4 and under eat for free. 

Visitors to the Great Plains Zoo can mingle with 19 life-like dinosaurs.  Dino-Roars goes from 10 am to 5 pm in the Great Room of the Delbridge Museum of Natural History. The dino display runs through May 3rd.  The cost is $3, plus a zoo admission.  You can also purchase a Dino Membership for unlimited visits to Dino-Roars.

Augustana College's Third Sunday Archeology Series presents The Cahokia Kingdom, featuring Timothy Schilling of the National Park Service.  The free event gets underway at 2 p.m. in the Gilbert Science Center.  Refreshments will be served.

Motorcycles and ATV's will be going full-throttle on Brant Lake, near Chester, SD today.  The Lake Brant Ice Races will be held by the Shipwreck Bar & Grill.  Registration is at 10 am.  Practice begins at 11 am with the races starting at noon.

Open skating goes from 1-3 p.m. at the SCHEELS IcePlex.  That's followed by a hockey stick-n-puck from 3:15-4:15 p.m.  The IcePlex is located at the Sanford Sports Complex north of Elmwood Golf Course off North Westport Avenue.

Films playing at the Wells Fargo CineDome at the Washington Pavilion include Big Hero 6, Interstellar, Jerusalem, and Tiny Giants.

The Nostalgia Night Film Series presents the 1937 Katharine Hepburn, Ginger Rogers and Lucille Ball comedy Stage Door at the Elks Theatre in downtown Rapid City.  Show time is 6:30 p.m.
