South Dakotans Deal With More Spring Snow

As South Dakotans spend another spring day digging out from up to a foot of snow, a mental health professional is recommending people take vitamins, remain active and escape through books to stave off depression.

Kelly Marker is a licensed counselor with Behavior Management Systems in Rapid City.

She says people who struggle with depression and anxiety will be the most affected by long winters and a lack of sunlight.

Marker says she recommends clients taken Vitamin D-3 pills and go tanning. She says she tries to remain active and sometimes tries to escape through a good book.

Forecasters say up to a foot of snow could fall in the Black Hills on Monday. Many schools in the western part of the state started late or called off classes.
