Sioux Falls, SD
The city of Sioux Falls is planning for the future and hopes a 160-question survey will help it meet the community's needs.
"I do like the idea around it. The general idea to get everyone's opinion. That's the only way you're going to find out if people are happy or not," Sioux Falls resident Tammy Najam said.
"I guess it wouldn't hurt, I guess" Sioux Falls resident Harry Bucholz said.
Some of the questions are pretty simple, such as: "How would you rate Sioux Falls as a place to live?" Others touch on hot topics, like snow gates.
"I think it's a good idea. Saves you from shoveling your own driveway," Richard Cox said, referring to snow gates
Most of the people we spoke with did not receive a survey in the mail. And while they like the idea, there were a few questions they weren't so sure of.
"Well it depends on what details they're looking for. There's obviously a lot of issues that need to be fixed around here. Like the streets, the streets and all that other stuff, which they've been doing good at. But there's some questions in there that's not necessary. It's kind of a waste of time," Najam said.
But overall, people just want to make the town they call home an even better place to live.
"I'd probably would fill it out. I've always lived in South Dakota, so I love Sioux Falls," Bucholz said.
According to the survey papers, your answers will remain anonymous and there will be a postage-paid envelope to mail your answers back in.
The city did a similar survey about ten years ago.
