U.S. Attorney Brendan Johnson reports a Sioux Falls man was convicted of possession with intent to distribute.
40-year-old Denardo LaVelle Cunningham, of Sioux Falls, was sentenced to 41 months in custody, three years of supervised release, and a $100 special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund. When arrested, Cunningham was found with more than 200 bags of heroin packaged for resale.
Cunningham was indicted by a federal grand jury on Oct. 8, 2013, for possession with the intent to distribute a controlled substance and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person. He pled guilty to posession charges on May 12, 2014.
