Sioux Falls Elementary School Honors Former Student

A special painting now hangs in the hallway at St. Mary's school in Sioux Falls honoring a student who left her mark on the world.

Nearly Two years ago students and staff added their hand prints to a canvas becoming the painting "hands of prayer".

It was a tribute to student Olivia Slocum. Olivia's battle with cancer ended in September of 2015.

Her family donated a print of the artwork to the school for all to enjoy

"It's an indescribable feeling to give back to the school where Olivia's journey all began. All because one small act of kindness every single one of these hands changed Olivia's life as well as my life forever."

The original "hands of prayer" painting currently hangs in the Slocum home.
