Sioux Empire Theatre, Dakota Players Host Play

sioux falls, sd

Are you bored this Saturday? Go on a journey with Imagine Nation.

The Sioux Empire Community Theatre and the Dakota Players are teaming up to bring you a play they’re put together in just one week.

“The kids audition, practice and perform all in one week,” Managing Director Patrick Pope said.

The year, the theatre brings a play called "Imagine Nation.' It's a play about a family going to a family reunion. But, Pope says, this isn’t your typical reunion for Brother, Sister and Little Brother because they let their imaginations take them on a journey of their very own.

“It’s really a fun musical experience,” Pope said, describing the play.

Imagine Nation features kids ranging from kindergarten to twelfth grade and has a company of about 50 young theatre lovers.

“The kids practice about four hours a day,” Pope said. But they have so much fun doing it.”

Aside from the fun, Pope says this is your chance to check out live, local theatre in the community.

“And, it’s good entertainment for the entire family,” Pope said.

Performances of Imagine Nation are on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. at the Augustana Theater located in the Edith Mortenson Center. All tickets are general admission and cost $5.00.
