Sioux City, IA
A Sioux City man has been sentenced to five years in prison for leading authorities on a high-speed car chase in May.
25-year-old David Whitlock was sentenced Thursday in Woodbury County District Court after he pleaded guilty to eluding, possession of a controlled substance and second-offense operating while intoxicated.
Numerous misdemeanor charges were dismissed as part of a plea agreement.
Whitlock was accused of leading a Woodbury County sheriff's deputy on a car chase that reached speeds of up to 90 mph. They went through Sergeant Bluff and south to Mapleton.
The chase ended when a deputy patrol car hit Whitlock's car.
