Sioux Falls, SD
Her boyfriend was killed during a botched robbery in December in northwest Sioux Falls. Faith Rasmussen and her mother, Theresa, have now pleaded guilty to federal drug distribution charges.
Rasmussen's boyfriend, 20-year-old Jordan LeBeau, was killed in December after Rasmussen's associates - who were also LeBeau's drug-dealing friends - recruited two Watertown teens to rob him. One of the teens shot and killed LeBeau during the attempted robbery.
Federal investigators say 55-year-old Theresa Rasmussen was involved in distributing marijuana in Sioux Falls along with 21-year-old Faith Rasmussen for nearly a year.
Theresa Rasmussen pleaded guilty to federal drug conspiracy in court Wednesday and Faith is scheduled to plead guilty to federal drug charges and money laundering Tuesday.
Sioux Falls Police say Faith Rasmussen supplied LeBeau with marijuana to sell. One of Rasmussen's other dealers in Sioux Falls was 21-year-old Kevin Rice, who has pleaded guilty to manslaughter for providing the plan and the handgun that was used by 19-year-old Brian Anderson and 18-year-old Trevor Kruthoff to kill LeBeau.

Anderson and Kruthoff were recruited to perform what's called a 'rip' and rob LeBeau of $100,000 that was believed to be in his home. Anderson and Kruthoff have both pleaded guilty to manslaughter.
After her plea Wednesday, Theresa Rasmussen and her attorney declined to comment on the plea or LeBeau's involvement with the conspiracy.
In their plea agreements both Faith and Theresa Rasmussen say they got the marijuana from California and then brought it to Sioux Falls where they put it in a storage unit.

Faith admits that the drug ring involved more than 220 pounds of marijuana. Documents say when the amounts of marijuana got too large to send in the mail, Faith Rasmussen would have other co-conspirators drive to California to pick it up. Theresa Rasmussen admitted Wednesday that she did travel on at least one occasion from Sioux Falls to California to pick up marijuana that was then dealt in South Dakota.
Now Theresa is facing a five year trip to federal prison for her role in the drug ring.
Faith Rasmussen could face up to 50 years in prison for her crimes.
Theresa Rasmussen will be sentenced in November.
