SD Rodeo Museum To Build Bronze Sculpture Garden

A rodeo museum in South Dakota is planning a sculpture garden to recognize the state's saddle bronc champions.

Officials at the Casey Tibbs South Dakota Rodeo Center in Fort Pierre say the garden and large sculpture of five-time world champion saddle bronc rider Billy Etbauer will be unveiled one June 1.

The garden will also serve as a gathering area for receptions and special events.

Museum board member and project leader Tom Brown says South Dakota has had more saddle bronc champions than any other state and the sculpture garden is a great way to preserve that heritage.

The statute of Etbauer will show the rider aboard Painted Valley when he scored an 89 to win the 2009 Cheyenne Frontier Days saddle bronc event.
