The It's All About Science Festival is a celebration and exploration of science, technology, engineer and mathematics at the Sanford Research Center from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The festival is free to attend. The Sanford Research Center is located at 2301 E. 60th Street North in Sioux Falls.
Sioux Empire Pit Rescue is hosting a Poker Run fundraiser. Registration goes from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Crow Bar in Sioux Falls. The 130-mile ride includes stops in Beresford, SD, Inwood, Iowa, Rock Rapids, Iowa and Brandon, SD. There will also be raffles, food, beverages and live music.
PorkPalooza at the 8th and Railroad Center in Sioux Falls features local rib vendors plus live music throughout the day. Performers include 10 Paces to Freedom at 11 a.m., JT and the Madmen at 12:10 p.m., Geoff and Amy at 2 p.m., Jim Groth at 3:40 p.m., Chute Roosters at 5:10 p.m., Guilty Pleasures Orchestra at 7 p.m. with the headliner Ron Keel Band playing at 9 p.m. Porkpalooza is a benefit for Feeding South Dakota.
Also at the 8th & Railroad Center, the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society is hosting an arts and crafts festival called Artisans for Animals. The festival goes from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and features kids and adult clothing boutiques, canned goods and crafts. Your donation of dog or cat food, pet toys or cash will help animals at the Humane Society.
Good Earth State Park at Blood Run southeast of Sioux Falls is hosting a Bird Watching Hike from 9-11 a.m. Grab your binoculars and wear a good pair of walking shoes. The hike is free but a park entrance license is required.
Lake Herman State Park west of Madison South Dakota is hosting Luce Cabin Pioneer Day. There will be pioneer chores, demonstrations and exhibits from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. A park entrance license is required.
Augustana Lutheran Church is hosting a Rummage & Bake Sale from 9 a.m. to noon. Items for sale include men's women's and kids clothing, books, toys and knick-knacks. Admission is free. Augustana Lutheran is located at 235 N. Prairie Avenue in Sioux Falls.
The Sioux Falls Kidney Walk raises money for education and prevention of kidney disease. Registration is at 9 a.m. at Sertoma Park. The 3-mile walk starts at 10:15 a.m.
The fishing's free at Family Park in Sioux Falls. All ages are welcome starting at 9 a.m. Everything is furnished, including poles, bait and tackle.
Vendors at the Falls Park Farmer's Market are selling fresh flowers, bread, local meats and tender greens from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Farmer's Market is open every Saturday through October.
Saturday's free Moonlight Movie in downtown Sioux Falls is Secret Life of Pets. The film gets underway at dusk in Fawick Park.
