Saturday Boredom Busters, April 21st

You can safely dispose of your personal papers during Saturday's Document Shred Event in Sioux Falls.  Bring your old bank statements, tax records and other paperwork to three drop-off sites: the Minnwest Bank at 5001 S. Louise, Washington High School and the Washington Pavilion parking lot.  The hours are from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Your $5 donation will go to Sioux Empire Crime Stoppers.

The Great Plains Zoo in Sioux falls is hosting a Party for the Planet in honor of Earth Day.  Visitors can learn how to make their backyards more wildlife-friendly from 1-4 p.m.  The cost is a zoo admission, free for zoo members.
 
While you're at the zoo, enjoy storytime and an animal encounter at the Bookworms Reading Program at 1 p.m. in the KELOLAND Education Center.  

The El Riad Shrine Circus features three performances at the Sioux Falls Arena.   Show times are 10 a.m., 2:30 & 7 p.m.  General admission tickets are $10, free for children 12 and under.

Habitat for Humanity is hosting a ReStorAtion Art Auction from 7-10 p.m. at The District in Sioux Falls.  The items up for bids are created by artists and carpenters using material from Habitat's ReStore.  Admission is free.
  
The Sioux Empire Community Theatre presents two performances of Peter and the Starcatcher at the Orpheum Theater in downtown Sioux Falls.  Show times are 2 & 7 p.m.  Tickets are $12.

Gentle Spirit Horses Rescue & Sanctuary is serving a Spaghetti Dinner from 4-9 p.m. at the American Legional Hall in Renner, SD.  Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for children and free for kids three and under.

The Brandon Valley School District is hosting a Turkey Supper Fundraiser from 4-8 p.m. in the Brandon Valley High School commons.  The high school and middle school bands will perform through the evening.   Tickets are $12 for adults, $8 for children, free for kids three and under.  
 
White Wall Sessions presents the band Granola performing twice at the Last Stop CD Shop studio on East 10th Street in Sioux Falls.  The concerts are at noon and 6 p.m.  Tickets are $5.

The Center for Western Studies is hosting the Dakota Conference on the Northern Plains featuring Korea & Vietnam: 25 Years of War in Asia.  Registration starts at 7:30. 

The sessions begin at 8:30 a.m. and run through the early afternoon.  The Center for Western Studies is located on the campus of Augustana University.
  
Inspiration Hills Camp & Retreat Center at Inwood, Iowa is hosting a Sportsman's Day.  Registration begins at 9:30 a.m.  The day is filled with competitions, seminars, shooting ranges and a silent auction.  Aaron & Steve Gould will put on a shooting exhibition at  2:00 p.m.  The cost is $30, children six and under are free.  

The Storm indoor football team takes on the Cedar Rapids Titans at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center.  Kickoff is at 7:05 p.m.  Tickets are available at the KELOLAND Box Office.
