Saturday Boredom Busters

The Western Mall in Sioux Falls is aglow for the holidays again for Christmas at the Western Mall.  The nightly light show runs from 5:30 to 9:30 pm through New Year's Day.  Your donations will help Make-A-Wish South Dakota grant wishes to sick kids.  

Dance Gallery performs the Nutcracker Ballet at the Orpheum Theater in downtown Sioux Falls.  The performances are at 2 & 7 pm.  Tickets are $18 for adults, $12 for children.

It's Reindeer Days at Lewis Drug.  Meet Santa and his reindeer from 9 am to 1 pm at Lewis at 26th & Sycamore.  Then Santa and his reindeer will greet Lewis customers at 12th & Kiwanis from 2-6 pm.

Santa is in the House at Christmas Tree Acres.  Your kids can meet Santa from 1-4 pm today and Sunday while you're picking out the family Christmas tree.  There will also be free treats and hot apple cider from 11 am to 6 pm.  Christmas Tree Acres is located five miles south of Sioux Falls on Minnesota Avenue, next to Country Apple Orchard.

Enjoy Christmas shopping in downtown Sioux Falls during Downtown Holidays.  There will be free horse-drawn wagon rides from noon to 4 pm.  The rides leave from the plaza at 12th & Phillips.

After you finish shopping unwind with a leisurely stroll through Falls Park.  The Winter Wonderland holiday light display will shine nightly at Falls Park through January 5th.

Flute player David Webb performs during Sip 'n' Shop at Prairie Berry Winery in Hill City, SD.  Webb, who custom-makes flutes at his Dakota WindSong Flute Shop, will perform from noon to 2 pm.  The free concert goes from noon to 2 pm.

See hundreds of owl butterflies fluttering around the Sertoma Butterfly House during Twilight Flight.  The special extended hours go from 4-5:30 pm.  The butterfly house is located in Sertoma Park at 53rd and Oxbow.

The Stampede hockey team takes on Team USA during USHL action at the Sioux Falls Arena.  They'll drop the puck at 7:05 pm.
