Sioux Falls, SD
The region's largest one-day arts festival takes place today in downtown Sioux Falls. The Sidewalk Arts Festival runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the streets surrounding the Washington Pavilion. The festival features more than 250 vendor booths, plus kids activities, live music and food. The festival is a fundraiser for the Pavilion's Visual Arts Center.
Germanfest is a celebration filled with German food, drink, music and dancing. Germanfest runs from 2-10 p.m. at Falls Park West. The Mississippi Valley Dutchmen perform from 2-6 p.m. Alpensterne performs from 6-10 p.m. Dachshund racing starts at 4:30 p.m.
The Fall Parade of Homes gets underway today. The Home Builders Association of the Sioux Empire is showcasing nearly 60 newly-built homes in Sioux Falls, Brandon, Crooks, Harrisburg, Tea, Valley Springs and Madison. The houses range in price from $160,000 to $1,000,000. Hours are 1-5 p.m. today and Sunday. Monday's hours are 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. It costs $5 to tour the Feature Home, otherwise, all other homes are free to see.
The Alzheimer's Association South Dakota Chapter is hosting the Walk to End Alzheimer's at Sertoma Park in Sioux Falls. Registration is at 9 a.m. An opening ceremony begins at 10 a.m. The 1-mile walk follows at 10:15 a.m.
Benson's Flea Market begins a new season in the Expo Building at the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds. Today's hours are from 9 am to 5 pm. Sunday's hours are 11 am to 4 pm.
The Sioux Empire Community Theatre presents the musical Fiddler on the Roof. The performance is at 7 p.m. at the Orpheum Theater in downtown Sioux Falls. Tickets are $25.
