The Sioux Empire Farm Show wraps up today at the Expo Building in the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds. Events begin at 6:30 a.m. with the College Livestock Judging Contest and Junior Livestock Judging. The Youth & Open Rabbit Show begins at 8:30 a.m.; the Breeding Beef Heifer Show is at noon. The farm show closes out with a Pony & Draft Horse Pull beginning at 6:30 p.m.
The Roosevelt Band Parent Association is hosting a Zumbathon from 10 a.m. to noon at Pettigrew Elementary in Sioux Falls. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. The $15 registration fee includes two hours of training with a licensed Zumba instructor. Proceeds will benefit Roosevelt High School band programs.
Anglers can try their luck and win cash prizes at the Ice Fish Fest at Catfish Bay. Registration is at 9 a.m. Open tickets are $40, youth tickets are $25. The tournament goes from noon to 3 p.m. Catfish Bay is located one-half mile west of Cliff Avenue and Interstate 90, north of Sioux Falls.
Children age 14 and under can take part in the Kool Kids' Fishing Derby at Oakwood State Park near Bruce, SD. The cost is $2. Registration is at 11 a.m. at the park shop. The fishing goes from noon to 2 p.m.
Warm up with a bowl of chili at the Sioux Falls Roller Dollz Chili Cook Off from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the downtown Coliseum. Besides the cook off, there will be a jalapeno eating contest, a costume contest and a kids area. Admission is $5.
The Lennox After-Prom Vendor/Craft Fair is being held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Lennox High School.
