Saturday Boredom Busters

Members of Faith Baptist Fellowship in Sioux Falls will be wrapping Christmas gifts at no charge.  The free gift-wrapping goes from 1-5 p.m. at the church located just west of 57th & Minnesota.  They'll furnish all the supplies from wrapping paper to ribbon, from gift tags to boxes.  The wrappers will not be accepting any donations.

McCrossan Boys Ranch is opening the doors to a life-size Gingerbread House in Sioux Falls.  The house is located at 128 West Carmel Lane.  The hours are from 4-8 p.m.  Kids can also visit Santa Claus and families can enjoy a horse-drawn wagon ride.  The cost is $3 a person or $12 per family.  All proceeds will go to help the boys at the ranch.

Messiah New Hope Lutheran Church presents A Down Home Christmas featuring holiday music by The Poker Alice Band with special guest Boyd Bristow.  The concert is at 7:30 p.m.  Tickets are $18.  Messiah New Hope is located at 5001 E. Madison in Sioux Falls.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will pose for pictures with your kids during Christmas at the Western Mall in Sioux Falls.  They'll be at the holiday light display from 6-8 p.m.  Your free-will donations will benefit Make-A-Wish South Dakota.

Author Tom Roberts presents a special Christmas storytime for children at the Main Branch of Siouxland Libraries in downtown Sioux Falls.  The free event begins at 11 a.m.  Copies of Roberts' books, including 'Twas the Night Before Christ, Return to the Farm: A Christmas Journey, Santa's Prayer, and The Little Lost Sock will be available for purchase with proceeds benefiting the Children's Home Society.

First United Methodist Church in Yankton is hosting a Live Nativity during two showings at 5:30 and 6:30 p.m.  Refreshments will be served after each performance.  First United Methodist is located at 201 West 11th. 

West Central High School presents a Renaissance Madrigal Dinner at 7 p.m. at Central Valley Church in Hartford.  The dinner features the high school choirs singing music from 15th Century England.  Tickets are $15.   

Kids can enjoy story-time and an animal encounter at the Bookworms Reading Program at the Great Plains Zoo in Sioux Falls.  The program begins at 1 p.m. in the KELOLAND Education Center. It's free with a zoo admission.
