Head to downtown Sioux Falls for the region's largest one-day arts festival. The Sidewalk Arts Festival goes from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and features more than 200 vendor booths plus live entertainment, kids' activities and food. The free festival takes place on the streets surrounding the Washington Pavilion and is a fundraiser for the pavilion's Visual Arts Center.
After you've checked out the booths at the Sidewalk Arts Festival, walk a few blocks north onto Phillips Avenue for Germanfest at Falls Park-West. The annual free German festival goes from 1-10 p.m. and includes music, food, puppet shows and weiner dog races.
It's Oktoberfest in Wilmont, Minnesota. Food vendors are available throughout the day, plus live music goes from 2 p.m. to midnight. There's also a Kids' Carnival from 2-5 p.m.
Sioux Falls Lincoln and O'Gorman square off in the Bob Burns Dakota Bowl at Howard Wood Field. Pre-game festivities get underway at 7 p.m. with kickoff at 8 p.m. If you can't make it to the game, watch a livestream of the Dakota Bowl on KELOLAND.com beginning at 8 p.m.
The Sioux Empire Community Theatre presents the comedy Little Shop of Horrors. The performance is at 7 p.m. at the Orpheum Theater in downtown Sioux Falls. Tickets are $25.
Purchase fresh produce and many other items for sale at the Sioux Falls Farmers Market, across the street from Falls Park. The hours are from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Vendors are also selling their produce and baked goods at the Sioux Empire Farmers Market at the 8th & Railroad Center on the East Bank of downtown Sioux Falls. Hours are from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
