Another round of street construction projects will begin after the Memorial Day Holiday in Sioux Falls. Here’s a look at the weekly road construction round up.
Starting Tuesday, the westbound outside lane of 41st Street will be closed east of Kiwanis. Traffic heading west will use the inside lane.
Fiber Optic cable will be installed and the work should be finished by noon.
Beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, crews will close down both westbound lanes of 69th Street at Charger Circle.
Utility services will be installed and should be finished the end of Thursday.
Also on Tuesday, Eighth Street will be closed from Fairfax to Sherman Avenue.
Crews will be working on utility replacement, concrete paving, replacing traffic signals and installing new street lights.
Those traveling on Eighth will be detoured to Weber Avenue, Sixth Street and Van Eps Avenue.
Work starts on the intersection of 16th Street and Garfield, Tuesday. This will close the intersection. Crews will be working on the south valley gutter.
Garfield will be closed for about a week.
The inside westbound lane on 26th Street will be closed on Alpine Avenue, Tuesday. Crews will be performing concrete repairs as traffic will be merged to the outside lane.
The work should be finished in a week.
The bike trail near the Big Sioux Pumping Station, will be closed on Tuesday. Crews will be installing new electrical lines, excavating the existing trail. The trail will be detoured to the paved service road adjacent to current trail and detour signs will be in place.
Riders can expect the trail to reopen on Friday.
Starting Wednesday at 8:30 a.m., Bahnson Avenue’s northbound lane will be closed at 18th Street. Traffic will be shifted but maintained both ways.
The work should be finished by June 4.
