Residents of Iowa Community Evacuated Due To Flooding

An estimated 350 residents of Alvord, Iowa, in the Lyon County are being evacuated because of flooding in the area.

According to the Lyon County Sheriff's Office, people are being taken to the Rock Rapids Community Center for shelter or are spening the night with friends or relatives.

Heavy rains across much of the area have flooded roads and homes.

Displaced residents in the Rock Valley, Iowa area, are being encouraged to seek shelter at the Faith Reformed Church.
