The investigation into a Rapid City shooting is complete, and the Attorney General's office says officers were justified in firing their weapons.
According to the report, a police officer pulled over James Baker at 1:30 in the morning on January 10. When he discovered Baker was wanted in Wyoming, he called for backup and when two officers approached the car, Baker took off.
Investigators say Baker reached speeds up to 80-miles-per hour in city limits, and when he finally stopped, he got out of his car with a gun and shot at an officer. Authorities fired back; all together they shot their weapons 33 times.
According to the report, Baker knew about the warrant and had told others he was not going back to jail, no matter what it took.
