Pro Garage Door lost all of its inventory in a fire last week in Tea. Today, the company is still picking up the pieces but now it's setting up shop in Sioux Falls.
Several businesses are looking for a new home after a large fire in Tea from last week.
"It was unreal watching it happen," Pro Garage Door co-owner Dustin Ahrendt said.
Pro Garage Door lost more than $100,000 worth of product in the blaze but now they're trying to turn a negative into a positive.
"It's been a hectic week but we got all moved in to an new location or are in the process of getting moved in and getting started again," Ahrendt said.
While the fire caused some initial frustration, Pro Garage Door was able to find a new location in Sioux Falls right behind CostCo.
"We were kind of wanting to find a building in Sioux Falls at some point anyways," co-owner Tate Eining said. "They let us get in right away and were really good with helping us out and getting us in right away so we could get stuff moved back in and working again."
New shelves will be built today to hold new stock. 40-50 doors are scheduled to arrive tomorrow to replace some of the inventory lost in the fire. The incident set Pro Garage Door back a couple weeks but the builders they work with have been understanding.
"Obviously they know it's not our fault and we'll get them serviced as fast as we can," Ahrendt said.
The business says it should be back to full-time install on Thursday.
