Pancake Breakfast For Pilot Killed In Crash

tea, sd

It's been more than a month since a plane crash near the Sioux Falls airport killed all four people on board. And Saturday morning, friends and colleagues came out to support pilot Brian Blake's family at a benefit pancake breakfast.

Dozens gathered at the experimental aircraft association chapter building at the Lincoln County Airport to enjoy a warm breakfast. Blake was in the process of taking over the management of the Tea airport, and his loss has impacted those who knew him best.

"It's a tremendous loss to the aviation community and in his honor we decided to donate all the proceeds of this breakfast today to Brian's family and they'll pass the money onto the charities of their choice," Gary Pelach, who helped organize the breakfast, said.

The experimental aircraft association sponsored the breakfast. The group holds a breakfast every month, but dedicated this one specifically to honor Blake.
