sioux falls, sd

The man accused of causing a deadly multiple-vehicle crash in Sioux Falls this week now faces more charges.

Sioux Falls police say 21-year-old Brent O'Neal faces first and second-degree manslaughter charges along with a list of others including felony hit and run.  If convicted of first-degree manslaughter, O’Neal could be sentenced to life in prison.

Authorities say O'Neal was going 60 miles an hour on Minnesota Avenue on Wednesday evening while texting on his cell phone.  He hit three full-size vehicles, a motorcycle and a light pole with his car.

33-year-old motorcyclist Phil Sorensen died from his injuries Thursday.
