One Dead, Two Injured In I-29 Crash

Near Worthing, SD

It's another costly weekend on the roads in South Dakota. One person is dead and two others seriously injured after a head-on crash on Interstate 29 Saturday morning.

Names aren't being released until family has been notified.

Around 6 a.m., a car travelling north in the southbound lane of I-29 near Worthing collided with a southbound car. The driver of the northbound car was not wearing their seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and passenger in the southbound car were wearing seatbelts and taken to a Sioux Falls hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.

South Dakota Highway Patrol is still investigating.
