Officials: Most Fireworks Are Illegal In Sioux Falls

A week before Independence Day, the City of Sioux Falls reminds residents about the rules regarding fireworks.

Sioux Falls limits fireworks to products with no audible report, projectile or launching component. Examples of prohibited products include firecrackers, bottle rockets, roman candles, parachutes and similar devices. The discharge of illegal fireworks within Sioux Falls city limits carries a $200 fine and/or 30 days in jail.

No fireworks may be used on any public sidewalk, street or alley. Fireworks cannot be used on private property without the expressed knowledge and permission of the property owner.
