A KELOLAND woman, authorities say was under the influence, is in jail Friday evening after leading state troopers on a high-speed chase down Interstate 29.
It all began with a parked car around 7 a.m. Friday. The South Dakota Highway Patrol says the car was parked on interstate 29 south bound near the 41st Street exit.
As soon as troopers pulled up, she turned around through the interstate median and sped north.
Some of the speeds reached 85 miles an hour, and it took seven miles for troopers to catch up with car.
Troopers pulled the car over on at the Flying J parking lot not far from where I-29 and I-90 meet.
Inside they found 50 year-old Sherry Doe alone in the vehicle. She was wearing a bikini and was clearly under the influence of a substance.
Authorities won't say exactly what it was--only that the substance was not alcohol.
Doe was arrested, and the investigation is ongoing.
