The Summit League named South Dakota State senior forward Jordan Dykstra its player of the week on Monday, the first Jackrabbit to win the award this season.
Dykstra received his first career Player of the Week accolade after earning MVP honors at the Progressive Legends Classic, Brookings Subregional. In victories against Howard and Lehigh, Dykstra posted double-doubles including a career-high 32 points and season-high 13 rebounds against Lehigh.
In the week’s final outing at Stanford, Dykstra posted his fifth 20-point game of the season. In four games during the week, Dykstra averaged 20.0 points, 8.8 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 0.5 steals per contest. He shot 85.7 percent from the free throw line, 55.6 percent from three-point range and 46.9 percent from the field.
Dykstra and the Jackrabbits return home to Frost Arena on Wednesday to host Dakota State, and then hit the road for a game at Minnesota on Tuesday, Dec. 10 at Williams Arena. Both games tip at 7 p.m.
