Mayor TenHaken Responds To Emerald Ash Borer Emergency

Mayor Paul TenHaken is responding to his first city-wide emergency as mayor.

Emerald ash borer arrived in town just days before he took office.  His administration is already responding

"It's going to be a challenge. We basically over-planted a lot of ash in our city. So we're going to start being more proactive with the types of trees we're planting and also look at some of the treatment options. Because it can be treated. We just need to be proactive as possible, and we've got a pretty good jump on it. Our Parks Department is in a pretty good position I feel," said TenHaken.

From the warning signs, to your treatment options, we're sitting down with the area's top experts to get you the information you need.  Join us for a KELOLAND News Special Report Thursday night immediately following the 6 p.m. newscast on KELOLAND TV.
