Kruthoff Hearing Ends With Father's Testimony

The decision about whether confessed killer Trevor Kruthoff will be prosecuted as an adult now lies in the hands of a Sioux Falls judge.

On Friday afternoon both the defense and prosecution rested their case.

Kruthoff confessed to killing 20-year-old Jordan LeBeau in his Sioux Falls home in December during a botched robbery. Kruthoff was 17-years-old at the time.

On Friday afternoon LeBeau's father - Jason LeBeau who walked in on the robbery attempt - described how Kruthoff shot him and then how Kruthoff turned the gun and shot and killed his son.

"I'm laying face down and I hear the second shot. I'm hoping Jordan wasn't dead," Jason LeBeau testified.

Defense attorneys say Kruthoff only shot because his 18-year-old friend Brian Anderson told him to shoot while he was fighting with Jordan LeBeau.

Judge Brad Zell will issue a written ruling later on whether Kruthoff's case will be transferred to juvenile court.
