Ted Kennedy Jr., the nephew of former President John F. Kennedy, visited cancer patients in Sioux Falls this weekend. But he also had some thoughts on the current health care system.
Kennedy Jr. had bone cancer when he was just 12 years old. And he spent his Saturday visiting with children at the Sanford Center going through cancer recoveries.
Through his experience as a health care attorney, Kennedy says the costs for families are simply too high.
“A lot of families today go bankrupt because of how much money it costs to treat an illness like cancer,” Kennedy said.
Kennedy says he’s supportive of the health care reform law. He also has some thoughts on how Obamacare can help families like the ones he visited this weekend because it doesn’t discriminate against pre-existing conditions.
