More Coat Giveaways Planned In Madison, Sioux Falls

The weather today might not have you thinking of the rapidly approaching winter season, but plenty of parents at a Keep KELOLAND Warm giveaway were.

This year for the first time, Harvest Church's Kidz 'N Coats program was on hand at Thursday's coat distribution at the downtown Sioux Falls library. Kidz-N-Coats aims to provide new winter coats and warm weather gear to children in need.

"There's just no way to express what it feels like when a kid gets excited to have a new coat on. Some of those kids have never had anything new before. To see some of them get really excited, it really does melt your heart," said Harvest Church Pastor Charlie Dial.

Today, Harvest Church was able to give away 700 brand new coats, hats, gloves and boots to kids in need. The next Keep KELOLAND Warm giveaway is scheduled for 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday, October 26 in Madison at Montgomery's and Lewis Drug along Washington Avenue.
