Janklow Wake To Feature Memories, 50s Music

sioux falls, sd

Bill Janklow loved 1950s rock music, and a band will be playing some at a wake for the former South
Dakota governor and congressman.

Janklow's family is holding the wake Tuesday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls. Visitation starts at 6 p.m. Tuesday, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m.  Afterward, Janklow's family and friends will share memories and some live music.

Janklow's son Russell says his father had a huge record collection and wanted `50s music for his wake.

The family asked a local band called Arlie's All Stars to play.  Russell Janklow says his father loved the band.

An overflow crowd is expected for Janklow's funeral Wednesday in Sioux Falls. It's also being held at Our Savior's Lutheran Church. It can hold 1,000 people.
