An Iowa woman who lost control of her car on a slippery stretch of Interstate 29 was killed when she was thrown from the vehicle. It happened around 7:40 a.m. Tuesday.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol says 38-year-old Tonya M. Anderson of Akron, Iowa, was headed north in a pickup truck when it went into the median about 12 miles south of Beresford and rolled. She was not wearing her seatbelt.
The road was slippery at the time from freezing drizzle.
